A week or so ago on a Friday night I recorded this podcast with Monique Truong in her Friday morning post-coffee state. I’d been at a musical recital and followed it with a few glasses of wine so I was fairly relaxed too. Monique is currently on the shortlist of five for the John Dos Passos Prize that “honours a writer of significant and substantial publication” but focuses on “an underappreciated writer whose work offers incisive, original commentary on American themes, experiments with form and encompasses a range of human experiences”. Yes, writers can be both of these things!
